Giambattista Valli Spring 2014 Couture

I’m a huge fan of botanical and florals, and Giambattista Valli always does it fantastically well.

Iridescent blue, fuchsia and aureolin contrast with pastel coloured gowns and mini dresses with embroidered three-dimensional blossom and prints that are absolutely beautiful.

Draped mini skirts are the highlight. They look super gorgeous and I think we will see this style on the high street very soon. I will be waiting for it! :)

Another item that I’m so in love with in this collection are the oversize creased metal bracelets. I love arm swag! Big bracelets are one of my favourite things on earth and I hope to see a DIY project about these soon, I might even try to make this bracelet myself and if so, I will definitely post on here. x

Hello My Name is Paul Smith

One of the best exhibitions I’ve seen is ‘Hello My Name Is Paul Smith’ at the Design Museum.

The exhibition is split in to several sections, starting with a replica of his first shop, which then opens up in to a room with floor to ceiling framed images, posters, paintings and various inspiration to represent an exploded view of Paul’s mind.

There is a good selection from his most famous collections along with collaborations like the striped Mini Cooper and a Thomas Goode teapot.

“I hate shops that all look the same - I love individuality” says a quote on the wall with framed images of his global flagship stores. Each having its own colour, mood, decor and character.

My favourite part of the exhibition is the replica of his design studio, a long table full of inspiration and the process of his collections, with garment templates hanging from the ceiling and an old stereo playing music. It really makes you feel like you’re standing in his work place.

When I think of Paul Smith, I think about lively, fun, printed detailing and lots of colour. I just love the way they’re all presented in this exhibition. Its definitely one not to be missed! x
